The next week for Emmanuel Villaume and the National Youth Orchestra of Canada sees the ensemble on tour in Ottawa (July 30 and 31) and Montreal (August 4). Following a chamber concert at the National Gallery in Ottawa on the 30th, Emmanuel leads the NYOC in concert at the National Arts Centre. The program includes Wagner’s Preludes to Acts I and III of Lohengrin, Ginastera’s Harp Concerto, Pal’s the afar, and Ravel’s Daphnis et Chloé.
On August 4, Emmanuel conducts a free concert at the Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal. There, the NYOC performs Gripp’s Passacaglia, Strauss’s Till Eulenspiegel’s Merry Pranks, and Mahler’s Symphony No. 1, “Titan.”
