The next month sees Emmanuel Villaume with the National Youth Orchestra Canada on a national tour that stretches from Montréal to Vancouver. Regarded as Canada’s “orchestral finishing school,” the NYOC is responsible for training young musicians, many of whom go on to perform with the country’s most prestigious orchestras.
Guesting with the Orchestra for the 2014 TD Tour, Emmanuel leads performances in Niagara (July 20), Kitchener (July 24), Toronto (July 28), Ottawa (July 30 and 31), Montréal (August 4), Edmonton (August 6), Kelowna (August 8), and Vancouver (August 10). Repertoire for the tour includes Wagner’s Preludes to Act I and III of Lohengrin, Ginastera’s Harp Concerto, Pal’s the afar, Ravel’s Daphnis et Chloé, Gripp’s Passacaglia, Strauss’s Till Eulenspiegel’s Merry Pranks, and Mahler’s Symphony No. 1.
