Printemps à New York, en Slovénie et en Slovaquie

Frühling in New York, Slowenien und der Slowakei

Following acclaimed performances in London, Bratislava, and Muscat this winter, Emmanuel Villaume looks forward to a spring spent in New York and Ljubljana, as well as a return to Bratislava where he is the Chief Conductor of the Slovak Philharmonic.

On April 23, 25, and 27, the French conductor leads students from the Juilliard Opera and Juilliard Orchestra in Massenet’s Cendrillon, based on the tale of Cinderella. The production is directed by Peter Kazaras and stars Julia Bullock in the title role.

Emmanuel then returns to the Slovak Philharmonic for concerts in May, comprising works by Beethoven and Mozart (May 6 and 7) as well as a trio of pieces by Berlioz, Saint-Saëns, and Tchaikovsky (May 15 and 16). Emmanuel also performs with the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra — where he served as Chief Conductor from 2008 to 2013 — conducting Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll as well as the final scene from Daphne and selected lieder by Richard Strauss on May 22 and 23. The following week, he leads works by Debussy and Ravel on May 29 and 30. Joining as soloists for these concerts are soprano Sabina Cvilak and mezzo-soprano Bernarda Fink, respectively.
