In his third year as Music Director of the Dallas Opera, Emmanuel Villaume will conduct three works as part of the company’s 2015-16 season that spans favorites of the canon, a new work, and musical theater. The French conductor opens the season in November with six performances of Puccini’s Tosca, starring Emily Magee in the title role and in a production directed by Ellen Douglas Schlaefer.

The following month, Emmanuel returns to the podium of the Winspear Opera House for the world premiere of Mark Adamo’s Becoming Santa Claus, a new work for the holiday season with Juan Joé de León, Jennifer Rivera, and Matthew Boehler.

In April, Emmanuel closes out the Dallas Opera’s season with Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II’s Show Boat, a beloved work of American musical theater seen here in a production by Francesca Zambello. The production stars Andriana Chuchman, Michael Todd Simpson, Alyson Cambridge, and Morris Robinson.
